Following Landmarks’ firsthand visit to the site, West Park was given an additional opportunity to speak in support of their hardship application. On July 19, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission held a public meeting to question the West Park Presbyterian Church about their hardship application. Lesbian Herstory Archives Calendared for Individual Landmark Designation
Already located within the Park Slope Historic District, the building will now be considered for a designation as an Individual Landmark. On June 28, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar the Lesbian Herstory Archives for designation. Located at 484 14th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this French Renaissance Revival-style rowhouse was constructed in 1908 and has housed the Lesbian Herstory Archives since 1991.
Jacob Dangler House Calendared for Individual Landmark Consideration
A late addition to Landmarks’ agenda, the Commission unanimously voted in favor of calendaring the Brooklyn mansion. On June 7, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar the Jacob Dangler House, located at 441 Willoughby Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn for designation.
Changes to Open Meetings Law Enable Hybrid Meetings But Present Ongoing Challenges

Historic District building owner fined
Owner of building in landmarked district failed to honor agreement with Landmarks Preservation Commission to maintain structure in good repair. In December 2000, John Quadrozzi, Jr. purchased 364 Henry Street, Brooklyn, from the Long Island College Hospital. The property is within the Cobble Hill Historic District and protected under the New York City Landmarks Law, which requires the owner to maintain the building’s exterior “in good repair.”
