New York State’s redistricting process following the 2020 Census failed to live up to the reforms envisioned by voters who endorsed the 2014 constitutional changes. Instead, the redistricting process proved unworkable, missed constitutional deadlines, and resulted in judicially-imposed districts. The time to fix the state’s redistricting process starts now, before the 2030 redistricting cycle gets underway.

On November 27, 2023, the City Planning Commission held a review session on the proposed Gaming Facility Text Amendment to the Zoning Resolution to streamline casino development in New York City.
On November 7, 2023, New Yorkers will vote in the next general election. This year, the entire City Council is up for reelection. New Yorkers will also vote for the District Attorney in the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island and Civil Court positions and ballot proposals.
