Landmarks continued public hearing at owner’s request. On April 21, 2005 Landmarks held a second public hearing on the proposed designation of the Windemere Apartments located at 400-406 West 57th Street and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan. Public parking garage approved for 110 Livingston

333-space parking garage to be located at the former Board of Education headquarters. The Planning Commission approved an application by Two Trees Management and EDC for a 333-space public parking garage to be located within the 300,000-square-foot, former Board of Education headquarters at 110 Livingston Street in Brooklyn. Germania Bank Building designated

Landmarks designates building over owner’s objection. On March 29, 2005, Landmarks designated the Germania Bank Building, the 1898 Beaux Art Bank located at the intersection of Bowery and Spring Street, as an individual landmark over the current owner’s objection. Considered one of the most important designs of Robert Maynicke, the six-story, granite and brick facade building has large arched openings on the ground and fifth floor with voussoirs topped with a detailed cornice.

Fortune teller advertised psychic consulting business with large neon sign and awning over her first-floor apartment window. Louis and Laura Wanko leased a first-floor apartment at 333 East 52nd Street in an Upper East Side neighborhood zoned for residential uses – an R813 district. John Jay faced the largest space deficit in the CUNY system.
