The Loeb Boathouse is located on the eastern shore of the 72nd Street Lake, with a dining room that opens up onto the lake, and also includes an indoor bar, snack bar, an events room, a public courtyard, and rowboat rentals.

On December 13, 2022, agency and elected officials gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking for the Orchard Beach Pavilion restoration project in the Bronx. The pavilion supports the 1.1 mile-long beach, which contains a hexagonal-block promenade, snack bars and food carts, souvenir stands, playgrounds, picnic areas, sports courts, changing areas and showers, and a parking lot. The promenade was designated as a city landmark in 2006.

A 2018 nor’easter damaged Shore Road, resulting in a partial collapse of the embankment and damage to the roadway and walkway. On June 23, 2022, the Department of Design and Construction, elected officials, and community members celebrated the completion of a $4.9 million project to stabilize Shore Road, which runs along Little Neck Bay from West Drive to Bayview Avenue in Douglaston, Queens.
