On December 18, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development and project partners announced a plan to transform the former JFK Hilton Hotel into permanently affordable housing. The project, Baisley Pond Park Residence, will provide housing for low-income and formerly homeless New Yorkers in South Jamaica, Queens.
On December 18, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development and the Department of Social Services announced the start of a new pilot program that helps New Yorkers move out of shelters and into renovated rent-stabilized apartments. The program, Unlocking Doors, is now accepting applications from owners of rent-stabilized buildings with rental units that need repairs.

On December 11, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced the “Green Fast Track” proposal to accelerate the construction of small- and medium-sized homes throughout the City by streamlining the environmental quality review process.
