Council Releases Report on State of Park Restrooms

On September 5, 2024, the City Council released Nature’s Call, a report about the functionality and conditions of over 100 restrooms in city parks. City Planning Commission Approves Bronx Metro-North Station Area Plan

On June 26, 2024, the City Planning Commission voted to approve the Bronx Metro-North Station Area plan. Four new Metro-North stations will be constructed along the East Bronx in Morris Park, Hunts Point, Co-op City, and Parkchester/Van Nest. The plan complements the construction of these stations by adding more housing, job opportunities, and enhanced public spaces around the Morris Park and Parkchester/Van Nest stations.


City Announces Let’s Swim NYC, a $1 Billion Investment in City’s Pools

On June 18, 2024, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYC Parks) Commissioner Sue Donoghue celebrated the launch of the Let’s Swim NYC program. The program provides citizens throughout the five boroughs with improved access to pools to protect them against the summer heat, and to offer New Yorkers the opportunity to learn about water safety.
