Community Board plan approved for Queensboro Bridge area

Manhattan Community Board 8 submitted plan for new park, improved amenities and lighting of Queensboro Bridge. In 2002, Community Board 8 started to develop its own land use plan for the revitalization of the area around the Queensboro Bridge. Companies fought over whose signs were grandfathered. BSA denied Lamar Outdoor Advertising’s appeal of Buildings’ decision to revoke permits for two back-to-back billboards at 50 South Bridge Street in Charleston, Staten Island.

Stormwater easements and acquisition approved

DEP to acquire 3.3 acres and three easements to establish stormwater runoff areas in Staten Island. In February the Planning Commission approved two actions associated with stormwater runoff systems in the Arden Heights, Annadale, Eltingville, Woodrow and Prince’s Bay neighborhoods of Staten Island, some of the last remaining areas in the city without established stormwater sewer systems.
