On June 26, 2024, the New York City Comptroller’s Bureau of Labor Law commenced lawsuits against Planned Lifestyle Services and Planned Building Services. The Comptroller alleges the Planned Companies violated Real Property Tax Law § 421-a, based on not paying prevailing wages and supplemental benefits to building service employees at two buildings.
On July 11, 2024, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services announced the renovation of The Bronx Museum located at 165th Street and Grand Concourse.
On July 15, 2024, New York’s Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) celebrated the grand opening of Betances Family Apartments, a new affordable building, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The apartment complex is located on the NYCHA Betances VI campus in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx.
