On August 12, 2024, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection appointed three Borough Commissioners for the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. The Borough Commissioners will serve as chief liaisons for elected officials, stakeholders, and community members to address environmental issues within each borough. Comptroller’s Office Files Suit Against Two Building Owners For Failure to Pay Prevailing Wages
On June 26, 2024, the New York City Comptroller’s Bureau of Labor Law commenced lawsuits against Planned Lifestyle Services and Planned Building Services. The Comptroller alleges the Planned Companies violated Real Property Tax Law § 421-a, based on not paying prevailing wages and supplemental benefits to building service employees at two buildings.
