On June 6, 2024, the City Council voted to approve the City of Yes for Economic Opportunity zoning text amendment. The amendment is one of three City of Yes zoning text amendments proposed by the Adams administration to address outdated provisions within the zoning text that unnecessarily restrict or limit housing, the implementation of green technology and infrastructure, and economic development.
This morning, the Center for New York City Law and the NY Elections, Census and Redistricting Institute at New York Law School will host NY Redistricting: What Happened and What’s Next?, a conference to explore the impact of the 2014 redistricting amendment, and what should be changed ahead of 2030.

New York Law School will host a conference on redistricting from 9:30 to Noon at the school (located at 185 W. Broadway in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood). The bill, known as the FARE (Fairness in Apartment Rental Expenses) Act, ensures that the party hiring a broker, whether tenant or landlord, is responsible for paying the broker.
