On September 16, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams announced a $35 million investment for the design and construction of the Metropolitan (Met) Hub, a five-acre linear park in Forest Hills, Queens. The funding includes $2.5 million from City Council, while Met Hub construction will be facilitated by the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Parks Department.

On October 17, 2022, the Department of City Planning will host an information session regarding the proposed “City of Yes” zoning text amendments. The “City of Yes” amendments, announced in June, aim to resolve obstacles that prevent the creation of more housing, remove certain zoning limitations to encourage economic growth, and support sustainability.

This federal funding will be used to upgrade and improve the Produce Market’s facilities, strengthening critical freight movement and improving the environment, public health, and quality of life for the Hunts Point community.
