BOROUGH PRIORITIES
On Friday February 7, 2014, the Center for New York City Law, Dean Anthony W. Crowell, and Professor Ross Sandler honored New York City’s five Borough Presidents in a panel discussion on borough priorities. Borough Presidents Eric Adams (Brooklyn), Gale Brewer (Manhattan), Ruben Diaz Jr. (Bronx), James Oddo (Staten Island), and Deputy Borough President Leroy Comrie (Queens) participated at the panel. The panel was moderated by Errol Louis of NY1.
The breakfast began with welcoming remarks by Dean Anthony W. Crowell and Professor Ross Sandler. They thanked the event sponsors and introduced the Borough Presidents, moderator Errol Louis. Errol led a lively discussion with the Borough Presidents about their vision for the future of the office and the Borough President Office’s relationship with community boards and other levels of government. The Borough Presidents also discussed the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, the importance of civic engagement, and many other issues and challenges facing the five boroughs of New York City. The engaging discussion was followed by audience Q&A.
