On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, the Center for New York City Law at New York Law School hosted the 126th City Law Breakfast. The speaker was Mark Peters, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation.
Commissioner Peters was welcomed by Anthony Crowell, Dean and President of New York Law School and introduced by Ross Sandler, Professor of Law and Director of the Center for New York City Law. Commissioner Peters discussed DOI’s role in combating corruption among New York City’s public agencies, and also addressed ongoing investigations into Rikers Island correctional staff and conditions at City homeless shelters. The commissioner emphasized the need to fight corruption in order to preserve public faith in their government, and took questions from the capacity audience.
