On Monday, November 30, 2015, former Speaker of the New York State Assembly Sheldon Silver was convicted on seven charges of corruption in Federal court. Two days after announcing the charges this past January, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara spoke at the Center for New York City Law’s CityLaw Breakfast.
