City Officials Break Ground on New Park in the Bronx
On November 30, 2023, Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Andrew Kimball joined elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new park in the South Bronx. The new park, located on Exterior Street between 144th and 146th Streets, will bring waterfront access and new open space for local Bronx residents.
EDC Announces Public-Private Partnership to Build Film Studio Campus at Pier 94
On August 29, 2023, the New York City Economic Development Corporation announced a public-private partnership with Vornado Realty Trust, Hudson Pacific Properties, and Blackstone to build a studio campus at Pier 94 near Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan. The Sunset Pier 94 Studios project will create a film and production studio as well as public amenities for Hudson River Park.
$27 Million Investment to Bolster Health and Education Through LifeSci NYC
The City College of New York and the Mount Sinai Health System will build new spaces dedicated to startups. June is the city’s fifth consecutive month of continued private sector job growth. On July 22, 2022, the NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced in its monthly Economic Snapshot that 22,100 private sector jobs were added in June in NYC.
City Breaks Ground on New Public Health Lab in Harlem
The new facility is expected to open in 2026. On July 6, 2022, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that city officials broke ground on the new NYC Public Health Laboratory, located adjacent to the Harlem Hospital complex on West 137th Street in Manhattan. While the (EDC) is managing the building’s construction, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will operate the laboratory upon its completion.
