City pushes forward on its goal to create 300,000 affordable homes and produces a record number of affordable units for homeless, seniors, and those in need of supportive services. On July 30, 2019, the Office of the Mayor announced that the City has financed 25,299 affordable homes for 2019. The Citi Bike expansion will double the current service area by 35 square miles and triple the number of bikes to 40,000. Mayor de Blasio Opposes New Federal Housing Rules Based on Immigration Status
The federal government proposed a rule that would bar mixed-immigration status families from accessing rental subsidies. On July 9, 2019, the de Blasio Administration announced that it submitted formal comments to the federal government in opposition to a proposed rule that would result in eviction of thousands of New Yorkers from federally-assisted housing based on the tenants’ immigration status.

The three new appointees bring diverse experience and backgrounds to the board. Rockaway Beach Restored for Memorial Day Weekend
The stretch of beach was closed last summer due to heavy erosion.
