The City’s construction sites are going green. On September 23, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams signed Clean Construction Executive Order 23 (EO 23). The executive order requires the city’s capital project agencies to commit to actions that will lower greenhouse gas emissions arising from municipal construction projects.

On September 16, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams announced a $35 million investment for the design and construction of the Metropolitan (Met) Hub, a five-acre linear park in Forest Hills, Queens. The funding includes $2.5 million from City Council, while Met Hub construction will be facilitated by the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Parks Department.

On September 15, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams announced that the Hunts Point Produce Market was selected for a $110 million U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant.
