DDC Annouces Request for Qualifications for Borough-Based Jail Construction

Contracting for the construction of the Borough-Based Jails under way. On February 4, 2020, the Department of Design and Construction announced the issuance of four Request for Qualifications for the Design-Build teams that might construct the new borough based jails.  The four jails will be located at 24-125 White Street in Manhattan, 745 East 141st Street in the Bronx, 126-02 82nd Avenue in Queens and at 275 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.


DDC Announces $15.5M in Restoration of Montefiore Square in West Harlem

The project will provide space for community events and green markets. On October 23, 2019, the New York City Department of Design and Construction announced a joint effort to restore and expand Montefiore Square into what is now Hamilton Place between Broadway and West 138th Street in West Harlem, Manhattan.

Contractor redesigned and re-fabricated roof of rink as part of a time and materials contract. On September 19, 2013, the Department of Design and Construction awarded a $5.1 million contract to Triton Structural Concrete, Inc. to construct the Ocean Breeze Indoor Horse Riding Arena in Staten Island. Triton Structural Concrete Failed to Reserve $790,125 Claim

Contractor hired to repair Hurricane Sandy damage failed to list dispute when seeking time extensions on project. In 2009, the Department of Design and Construction awarded Triton Structural Concrete, Inc. a $105,003,443 contract to rebuild and repair various beachfront structures in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The contract required Triton to install prefabricated modular buildings on driven pile foundations along several sections of the beachfront.
