New Filings and Decisions Charts for July 2012 Available

Every month CityLand publishes a comprehensive set of charts to track applications to, and decisions from, New York City’s land use agencies. Agencies covered include: Department of City Planning, City Planning Commission, City Council, Board of Standards & Appeals, and Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Riverside Drive-West End Historic District Extension I Designated

Approximately 194 properties added to existing 264-building historic district in the Upper West Side. On June 26, 2012, Landmarks voted unanimously to create the Riverside Drive-West End Historic District Extension I in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The district extension comprises approximately 194 buildings between West 87th Street, West 79th Street, Broadway, and Riverside Drive. Landmarks Asks for Changes to Canal Street Project Identical to a Design Approved for Site in 2004

Landmarks in 2004 approved design for building at the corner of Canal and Greene Streets, but financing fell through and 2007-issued certificate of appropriateness expired. City seeks proposals for industrial-use lots in parts of the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. On June 25, 2012, the Economic Development Corporation issued a rolling request for proposals for the purchase or lease of four City-owned industrial parcels in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. Appellate Court Denies Challenge to St. Mary’s Hospital’s Five-Story Addition

Opponent’s attempt to stop construction declared moot. St. Mary’s Hospital for Children operates a 97-bed children’s hospital on an eight-acre campus at 29-01 216th Street in Bayside, Queens.
