City Celebrates Renovations of Breukelen Basketball Courts in Brooklyn

On October 30, 2024, New York City Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue, in collaboration with other critical stakeholders, celebrated the renovation of the basketball courts at Breukelen Ballfield in East New York, Brooklyn This $1.8 million project was funded by the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation’s Social Justice Fund. The fund provides neighborhoods facing acute levels of gun violence resources and recreation opportunities.



Proposed Council Bill Promotes Legislative Process Education for Community Boards, Local Entities

On October 10, 2024, the New York City Council introduced Bill Int. No. 1075-2024[1] (the “bill”) proposing to improve legislative and procedural knowledge of community boards and other local civic entities. Mayor Adams Names Jessica Tisch as New NYPD Commissioner

On November 20, 2024, Mayor Eric Adams announced the appointment of Jessica Tisch as commissioner of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), effective November 25th. Tisch is the second woman to serve as NYPD Commissioner in the department’s 179-year history.
